“I have nothing to wear!” is the scream you hear from women of all walks of life …All while steering at a closet full of clothes.
It’s words we all, said at least, hmmm, a million times if we are honest. Ok, that was a bit of an exaggeration. But you know what I mean.
It’s not that you don’t have clothes, it’s that you don’t know how to put it all together.
At the end of this blog, you will have three pretty easy outfit formulas for getting dress more efficiently.
These outfits formula works for just about any occasion, from casual drinks with friends to your next business meeting.
Formula # 1 Basic on Basic on Basic
Sounds pretty simple right?! Fun fact, it’s all in your closet.
Le’s have a look, and so we can put this easy style formula to use. Remember your basic are merely items you wear. This style below is just for illustration purposes.
Ok, let’s get to it.
Basic 1: You’ll need a pair of jeans, pants or skirt (pencil if you have one)
Basic 2: simple tank top, t-shirt or camisole will work here
Basic 3: The completer, a jacket, doesn’t have to be the same color as top nor bottom, but keep it simple and tasteful.
BOOM! One outfit completed. Yeah! Wasn’t that fun?
Let’s take up a notch, “take it up a notch…” sorry I got carried away with a carnival song.
Formula # 2 Basic on Basic on Statement
Now we all know that three pieces make an outfit, but for this easy outfit formula, you can decide, if you want one basic and a statement piece, or use this formula as is.
Statement Piece: I’ve decided to use a color block patch skirt as my statement piece of this outfit. You don’t have to; your statement piece can either the tops or bottom.
Basic #1: using a similar camisole in a different color as formula #1- again keeping it simple
Basic #2: Throwing on a jacket, these bad boys are no longer just for work.
How is it going so far? Are you following along?
The final outfit formula is having fun with colors. Now if you are not a color person ( maybe it’s time you add colors to your look) just kidding.
Formula # 3 Neutral on Print on Color
Neutral Piece: Again, complete up to you. I like using skinny white jeans, nothing fancy. If you feel like living on the wild side, go with a classic destroy jeans.
Print Piece: Don’t get too too crazy here. You don’t want to overwhelm the look. I chose a print that has a similar color pattern to my colorful piece.
Color Piece: As I’ve said before, the jacket for me is a much. So it’s no surprise that for the color piece, I choose this bright orange jacket from Italian brand Tonello.
